The Developer level account is the highest level of responsibility to assure not only the smooth operation of the site but also its continued operation, for everyone, for all time. There will likley be only two (but maybe three) Developer level accounts at any time. With the site set up to operate by the input, edits and management efforts of several (many!) people, there needs to be at least one additional Developer at any time, designated to take full control of the site (insuring its continuation) should anything happen to the primary developer.

Status:
  • The "Developer" level is the highest level of use of this glossary.
  • At this level of use, the user has complete control over the site, its contents, and its operation and further development.


    • Capabilities:
  • Create and edit web pages, and upload them to the website via the site's FTP account.
  • Modify the database structure and upload it to the website via the site's FTP account.

  • Promote (or demote!) any account to any desired account level.
  • Change the Editor, Administrator, and Developer level passwords.

    • Procedures:
  • The user's account must be designated as a Developer, by another Developer.
  • The user may log into his/her account alone, and thus sign in at the "Contributor" level.
  • The user may optionally also supply the Editor, Administrator, or Developer password at login, providing the login session with rights at any level.
