Why have an account? Plain and simple: You don't NEED an account. Account Levels, and cumulative capabilities: (see also: Administration Menu) 0 = V = Visitor: Those with no account; View and enter terms and definitions. No credit for adding terms or definitions. 1 = C = Contributor: Credit is logged for adding terms or definitions. Change your own account data. 2 = E = Editor: Edit and approve pending definitions, edit any/all definitions. 3 = A = Administrator: Edit user account data (incl. change user passwords, activate/deactivate level 1 & 2 accounts, etc.), change Editor password, 4 = D = Developer: Change Administrator password; modify and upload web pages and database Having an account will serve multiple purposes: 1. Any terms that you enter will be credited to you. Maybe, years from now, there will be a prize to the greatest contributor... MAYBE! 2. Having an account, and contributing, will put you in good standing if you ever decide that you'd like to contribute time and effort 3. You cannot be an "Editor" without first having had a good track record with a "Contributor" account... unless I know you! 4. With an account, if you enter a term or definition that I have question about, I (or another trusted Administrator) can email you for clarification... |
